We had our five month check up a week ago, Nick and I can not believe how fast time has flown by. Our Pediatrician said that Parker was perfect, only kidding but she was pretty close. She weighed in at 17 and a half lbs. and 26 and a half inches long. She has started rolling over all by herself, at first it seemed hard for her to do but now that she has the hang of it there is no stopping her. Nick and I put up the Christmas decorations, Parker is really enjoying the lights and carols. I know Parker might not be that into gifts this year but im sure she will have tons of fun with the paper.

Well Thanksgiving is right around the corner and so much has been going on. We have hit the four month mark with flying colors, Parker is growing like a weed 15 lbs and almost 26in of perfect wrapped up in the cutest package. So far she has been to Chicago Il, she has been to the river. She has had successful overnight babysitting and has meet so many of our best friends. Everywhere we go all we hear is how good she is, and I wish we could say that was not the truth but you know what it IS!!! We had a great time at a BBQ that was held for our friend Chris who has come home from the army after serving more than four years. Thank you so much, we love you and are so happy that you came home!!

Our friend Lucy is a little over eleven months old so seven months older than Parker. Being around Lucy during my pregnancy was great for both Nick and I, we though Luck was the cutest little thing. The first time Nick and I saw the two of them together however, we realized how little Parker was in comparison. Last Night we went to visit our new friend Stella, not even one week old and we can not believe how quickly Parker has grown. We have so many pictures of her but no real way of showing how much bigger she really is. Parkers birth weight was 7lbs 10ounces, only four ounces more than Stella. How is this for scale.

Last month Parker had her picture taken at Sears, thank you Grandma Mayes. I think she looks pretty good don't you?

Parker, Nick and I went to Irvine Park on Halloween. We had a great time, because they were trying to get rid of them all the pumpkins were only five dollars!!! So each of us got one, Nick had to carry Parker's for her though. Only kidding. It was a beautiful day, we walked around and picked our pumpkins and then headed home to carve them. Mine was a pirate ship, Nick's was a vampire going after a neck, and Parker's pumpkin was a fatty batty. Parker helped me make some rice crispy treats, cookies, and toasted pumpkin seeds that we took over to Uncle Jeffys house for a little get together that evening. Parker did not have a costume but she did have a very festive Halloween outfit. We figure she can be what she wants next year. Pumpkin time is over, now its turkey time!!

Halloween is right around the corner, the year is just flying by I can't believe it. Parker is not dressing up in a costume this year but she will be very cute and very festive, I have it all planned out. I just could not bring myself to zipping her up in a pea pod or something like that. We are going to a baby shower for some of our friends this weekend. We are all so excited that so many of our friends are having babies, we will get to grow up and have so many friends.

Now it has been a while since my last posting and I know I am a little behind. Someday I will be on top of this whole blog thing. Since week ten it seems like we have seen a whole new baby, her personality is starting to bloom. In the last five weeks Parker has grown to twice her birth weight and towering over us at twenty four and a half inches. She is such a happy girl always so excited to see her daddy in the morning. Parker has been in her own room at night for about the last four weeks and every morning before he goes to work Nick goes in and gets her and brings her in our bed room with me. This way both his ladies get plenty of beauty rest. When she wakes up and sees you in the morning it like its the first time she has ever seen you and she is so happy, I know I have said it before but it just makes you melt.
You would think that we would not be able to leave her alone with the way we talk about her but it is possible. Nick and I have gone to a couple wedding and left her with loving grandparents. I don't think they can get enough either.

The day we brought her home was a little nerve racking, my mom and dad came over with dinner and stayed for about an hour and then we were all on our own. Considering Parker would not let us put her down to sleep our first night was a little restless, day two the in laws brought dinner over and stayed a while and then we were alone again. By the end of the first week Parker would sleep on her own just about anywhere we would put her and we were getting the hand of everything. Nick was even doing his part with changing diapers and turning into the Parker whisperer when I was out of touch. It took Parker a little longer than normal to get back up to her birth weight, and she was a little behind for a few weeks but we were able to get that on track as well.

At about five weeks I took Parker with my mom and dad to Wisconsin to see my cousin get married. Nick was not able to make it because he had gone back to work (thank god) but everyone really missed him, especially Ashley and Simon the bride and groom. Parker took the trip like a champ, an airplane ride and lots of driving how hard could it be. I will say this Parker will definitely have some bragging rights flying first class at five weeks old.
Things have been moving right along since, Parker has meet a lots of our friends. She waits until she gets home to cry so everyone thinks she is the best baby and we don't deny it.

When we brought her home she was so tiny and only newborn clothes would fit her and then a week or so ago she was just to big for them and I had to box them all up, our little girl is getting so big so fast. Ok so not that fast, she is still only ten weeks old and just over twelve pounds but in comparison to the first time we saw her she is so different. Now if you come to see her she will smile at you and she is so attentive, it really makes you melt.

Picking up where I left off, the wedding was beautiful and the reception was a blast. Great food, music and friends. And then it was over and back to reality. Nick and I did not go on a honey moon but ended up out at the river the following weekend, it was nice to get away even with the family. I went back to school the following tuesday for my last semester at Cal State Fullerton, and graduated with my BA of art on May 23rd, 2009.

The summer was a bit of a blur after graduation, it was time for me to start to nest, but I don't think I did it right my house is still a bit of a mess. We had major work to do on the babies room, painting, putting furniture together, the works. It was a lot of fun though and I am glad that NIck and I were able to do it together, except the painting uncle Jeff helped with that.

Next on the agenda were baby showers, three in a row, and then the following week was my due date. Being with all our family and friends before Parker's arrival was amazing and we were so blessed. Our last shower was on the 5th of July and two days later our little family had gone from two to three. Now I know we did a little bit of back tracking but I needed to cover all the bases, so now we can move on to life with Parker Sue:

Lets start at the beginning... Nick and I met in high school. GoVanguards!!!

Love at first sight, not really we dated for a while and then decided to just be "friends". This lasted for a few years before we decided that things should be a little more permanent. Four years later we were expecting and planning a wedding.

On January 17, 2009, Nick and I tied the knot in Tustin, CA. The weather was beautiful as was everyone who attended. This was the first milestone of the Mayes Experience.

The second milestone was all ready in progress, she had been cooking for a little over three months when we said "I do". On the fourth of July, I was big as a house and our friend, Cody, thought that I would pop by the end of the night. He was wrong, but not by much.

Two days later I started going into labor. Nick and I were cleaning the house and I got this crazy pain in my stomach. Nick asked me if it was a contraction and I didn't know. It didn't take long to figure out. I had another one about an hour later and it was down hill from there. By ten o clock, they were coming every two to three minutes. After about an hour of walking around (the contractions were to bad to just sit), we headed down to St. Joe's hospital and there was no turning back. We were checked in to the hospital and in our room by 1:00 a.m. About an hour or so later, I got my epidural and took a little nap while we waited. After an hour of pushing and almost blacking out, Parker Sue Mayesarrived at 8:55 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7th. And, that is where our journey begins.
