So here we are at the end of Aug and the summer has been great. Parkers first birthday was so much fun, first we spent the evening with the family and some friends at concerts in the park where Parker had her first taste of birthday cake. Then a few days later we had a pool party at the Holdsworth house where Parker and her friends spent the day splashing in the pool and wrapped the day up with a home made fish cake that turned her face all purple! Since then we have been busy trying to stay pool side and stay cool with friends. We have been waiting for our friends Cody and LaLa to become new parents, baby Easton was born Aug 26th. But before he arrived we had a little surprise of our own to share, Parker is going to be a BIG sister. I went to the OB today and the newest baby Mayes should arrive the first or second week of April. Congratulations Parker!!

Ok so here is a stretch, our last post was just after valentines day and now we are weeks away from Parker's first birthday. The last few months have taken us from watching Parker shimmy across the floor to running after her to keep her out of the kitchen. Family and friends can not believe how smart and social Parker has become, she has so many friends and everyone wants a piece of her. We spent Memorial weekend at the river and Parker took the sun like a champ but like her mother she was not a fan of the cold water. She had a great time playing with Lucy and trying to get in and out the her new chair. Parker and I have been going to swim lessons once a week for a while now and are starting to think about planning a pool party.

For her first Valentines day Nick and I took Parker to the park and had a very nice little picnic, we even had live entertainment complements of other park goers. The sun was shining and the birds were chirping, Parker loved the sun and the grass. There was nothing better than spending the day with my two favorite people.

After the new year Nana and Papa Holdsworth decided to go and spend a month in Arizona, so when it decided to rain cats and dogs toward the end of the month and Nick's job sight was closed we thought it would be nice to make the six hour drive to go and see them. The drive was ok, it was really nice to be able to stop at the river considering it was half way there. My parents were staying in Prescott Az which was a little more than 3000 feet above sea level, it was beautiful there and even snowed for us more than once. It was really nice to be able to get away and see something new and we were very lucky have the time to go.

Ok, so we are a little behind. We had a great first family holiday. Parker was so excited to receive new educational toys and playing with all the wrapping paper. We also had fun taking some pictures with our cousins Desmond and Maya who came down from Organ for the holidays. The first week of January brought about our six month doctors visit, Parker is growing in leaps and bounds she is now weighing in at just under 19 and a half pounds and is stretching over twenty seven and a half inches. We have enjoyed watching Parker learn to sit up on her own and she is even starting to hold her own bottle to. Talk about miss independence. Nick and I are almost behind on the babyproofing, Parker might be crawling before we are ready for it. We can not believe how fast the last year has flown by, Nick and I have allready celebrated our one year anaversary and before you know it we will be getting ready to plan a baby birthday party. Parker loves seeing her friends Lucy and Stella, and is so excited for all the new friends that 2010 will bring. Looking foward to a great year.
